Gamification at the POS
In collaboration with Cheil Germany we developed the fun WebAR-Game AI-Island to promote the new Galaxy Fold at Media Markt and Saturn stores nationwide.


Our solution: The webAR-Game AI-Island that prompts customers to think about trading-in their old device for a new Samsung phone through gameplay. As the game is tied to an AR-Marker it physically anchors customers to
Samsung retail displays ensuring extended exposure to the product lineup. The result: The AI-Island WebAR game transformed the Samsung retail displays into interactive engagement hubs, that increased dwelltime.



Scanning the QR-Code that is staged on the stalls, customers easily enter the AR gaming experience in their web browser and can start playing.
Players explore the Samsung Galaxy AI-Island with a mission to collect valuable items for trade-in. They navigate the map while dodging enemies determined to sabotage the recycling efforts.
Finishing the experience customers are displayes their score and encouraged to trade in their old phone for a new Samsung Galaxy model.

Brand and AR-conform Design
We wove in the Samsung product features and trade-in promotion into gameplay rather than direct sales messaging. Samsung's Now Brief assistant takes physical form as friendly companion, who leads user through the experience. While the Galaxy Fold becomes an entertainment canvas, opening up the game world for customers. Additionally the game displays product ads.
