As part of the Spectacles Lens Fund, Snap Inc.’s premium R&D grant, we created Cookmate, an AI-powered cooking companion that redefines the kitchen experience. Using Augmented Reality and computer vision, Cookmate provides hands-free, step-by-step guidance directly in the user’s field of vision. This seamless support makes cooking intuitive, immersive, and smarter than ever.

AR glasses emerge as the next frontier of human computer interaction. Snap Inc. sought to demonstrate the practical potential of Spectacles. Our challenge: Rethink everyday life to be smarter, more efficient and a lot more fun.

Our Solution: Cookmate. An intuitive cooking companion that brings AI and AR together to transform how people follow recipes. Powered by AI and computer vision, it identifies ingredients, measures with precision, tracks interactions, and responds instantly to the simple call, “Hey Chef!”

By bringing AI and AR into everyday households, we make guided cooking more intuitive and personalized for each user. The result: Cookmate premiered with a global release at Augmented World Expo 2025 in the USA, generating strong interest and discussion among industry leaders.
